Salesforce Anywhere Glitches
This app is riddled with glitches. This is not ready for pilot, it has been far too rushed.
iOS App
Overall
Compared to the way the Salesforce Mobile App looks, this just looks far too simplistic.
We’ve JUST got great Einstein search in Salesforce, and the search in the Salesforce Mobile app is good, but we’ve got yet another search here? Why?
I’ve got the Salesforce Anywhere app and the Salesforce App open on iOS and logged in as the same user and the Open in Salesforce buttons do nothing.
Look, we’ve only JUST got the ability to see ALL List Views on Salesforce Mobile on Android and we are back to searching for List Views here, and only seeing the most recently used records?
It doesn’t log out. I had not used my iPad in Weeks and it was still logged in!
Search Page
Is that the Org ID? Why is it there?
Why do I want to see users first?
Why are there THREE Test Accounts.
Later on there were 4 copies of my user record
The data is not up to date - the Test Account has been renamed.
Even though the Account with the updated name is shown on the next few screen shots - coming back to this screen and refreshing many times does not show the correct name.
Update a Record Screen
Why doesn’t it tell you that’s the screen you are on?
Why are reports on this screen?
Why are list views on this screen?
Updating a Record
Why can a regular user see that these fields exist on the User Record, AND try to update them?
The fields are not even in any order
The custom fields on the User record they don’t have access to are not available, which is good.
Updating Account
It’s a minor thing, but why does it say Record Type ID and Owner ID when it’s actually the a correct lookup name. It doesn’t say that on the record in Salesforce.
It doesn’t show only the fields related to that Page Layout or Record Type - this is an Account object with Person Accounts but this Record Type is not a Person Account Record Type yet it is showing Person Account Fields
I was able to select Longitude to update without getting Latitude - you can’t do that on the regular UI
I was able to try to update the Birthdate even though that is not allowed.
Viewing the Account Record
Why these three fields? It is NOT even the pathetically small number of fields we get on the Compact Layout.
Viewing a List View
It just doesn’t even load - this is a Custom Object. And Alerts on this list did not work either.
Account does load. And the search works well
Pulling down does NOT refresh this list view when there has been a new Account created.
Alert Subscription for List View
What actually is My Activity?
I created a new Account (from another user) and did NOT get an alert.
Share Record Screen
Why are there two of the same user?
Where are the groups I’d set up?
Is this because one group was this user and my user?
Alerts Screen
Â
When Alerts did work… Why are there two the same
What on earth is Invoicing_Contact__r: Invoicing Contact? There is NOWHERE in Salesforce that any lookup is ever ever ever shown that way!
And THEN it shows Invoicing_Contact__r as the label. And here it shows RecordType when before it showed Record Type ID when the field label is Account Record Type. If you can’t even get these simple things right, then don’t release this app!
Alerts and Subscriptions
Alerts came through twice. That may be because I have an Alert on a List View and an Alert on an Account. But tell me which Alert so I can modify the Alerts. OK, it does tell me which Alert it’s from when I go to the Alerts page in the App
No badges even though badges are set.
It just got stuck
Oh dear, this Account does not even exist anymore… The name has been changed.. Now the record it is related to is the correct record, but this does not fill me with confidence. AND it did not alert me when one of the fields changed. I had Account Fields > Invoicing Contact > Related to Invoicing Contact > Contact Status changes to Active and it did NOT alert me.
But it did alert me when I changed the Account Name when I had it set to alert me if the Name changed to ABC.
It does NOT tell me WHO updated the record. Wouldn’t that be the MOST important part of an Alert on something changing? NOT even when I open the record does it tell me the last updated by and last updated date.
I just can’t trust Alerts.
Actions
I’m on a record. I click the + button. I choose Update a record. It then shows me a list of records to choose from to update. WHAT? Where is Einstein when you need it? Or at least a bit of code that says if you are on a record you probably want to update that record.
Yeah I probably won’t be logging a call - it did work on another occasion.
So obviously these don’t come from Quick Actions. Why not? We JUST got a huge change in Salesforce Mobile to make Quick Actions more visible - why wouldn’t you have them here. What is the point of this app?
